UPDATED: New York Firefighter Reflects On Attacks, Anniversary (Audio)

Thursday, September 15th, 2011 at 10:13 am

Paul Martin is a New York Firefighter who was on the scene at Ground Zero mere minutes after the Second Tower fell nearly 10 years ago on 9/11.

He spoke at the Special 9/11 Rememberance Ceremony at Brennan Field. Here’s Paul with a special gift from the Hinckley Fire Dept.

Martin was the keynote speaker that day.

Martin visited with our Jesse Logan about 9/11 just a few days before he spoke at Brennan Feild. We are republishing that audio interview so anyone who wasn’t able to attend can hear Mr. Martin speak.

The Ceremony on Sunday was remarkable. We spent almost an hour before-hand talking to and taking pictures with Paul Marten, the firefighter from New York. It was something that my wife and two sons and I will truly remember for a long time

I was honored to be the MC for the memorial at “The Brennan”. Imagine what it was like, being a volunteer fireman myself, and sitting by a New York City Fireman who was at Ground Zero and is holding a plaque he donated to the Hinckley Legion that he made with a piece of WTC glass and metal that he recovered from the rubble.
