Wisconsin’s Turkey Season Approaching

Wisconsin’s fall turkey season is set to get under way this month.

The statewide season starts on Sept. 17 and runs through Nov. 17. State wildlife officials say hunters’ prospects look good. The Department of Natural Resources kept the number of permits at 95,700, the same number the agency offered last year.

The spring harvest was down 16 percent, reflecting poor weather conditions that hampered hunters.
