UPDATE: Two Escaped Prisoners Recaptured, Two Still On The Run

On Monday, we told you about four inmates who had escaped from a Douglas County prison camp over the weekend. Now, we can report that two of those men are in custody after a chase in Superior Monday.

However, two other suspects remain at large.  The men escaped in two unrelated incidents Saturday.

On Monday around 11:30 a.m., Superior Police responded to a wooded area in South Superior.  A caller told police three men were walking down the street and thought they may be the men police say escaped from the Gordon Prison Camp in one incident Saturday.

Authorities were able to take Loren Frikart and Gary Wells into custody, but Danny Davis has yet to be found.  Authorities say the three walked away while on painting duty.

A fourth man — 26-year-old Caleb Smith — is on the loose and considered to be armed and dangerous after a separate incident Saturday.  Police say he was on work release when disappeared.  He may have assaulted a man and stolen a Blaine Township truck in Burnett Co.

The stolen truck is a silver 2005 Chevrolet truck with Wisconsin license plate number 197 744. If you have seen this vehicle, you are asked to contact authorities in Burnett County.
