Bachmann Wins Iowa Straw Poll
Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s momentum is growing in the race for the GOP presidential nomination after she won the Iowa straw poll on Saturday.
Bachmann won with 28% of the vote. That was a narrow victory over Rep. Ron Paul of Texas who finished with 27% of the vote. Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty finished third in the voting with 13%.
The Iowa straw poll is a key test of strength in Iowa early in the race. Iowa holds the first caucuses in the nation.
