Wisconsin Recall Elections Scheduled For Tuesday, Candidates Spending Freely
Just one day left until the first round of recall elections scheduled this summer in Wisconsin takes place. A government watchdog group says spending in five of the state Senate recall races has broken the previous record of $3 million.
The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign said Friday that it expects spending to go over the $3 million mark in a sixth race as well.
Overall spending on the recalls is expected to approach $30 million. Six elections will take place tomorrow, and two more will follow a week later. We’ll be tracking the results and of course will keep you updated. These recalls are all taking place – for one reason or another – due to the way State Senator’s handled themselves during the debate over Governor Scott Walker’s bill to limit collective bargaining.
