Work On I-35 To Begin Both Near Duluth, Twin Cities

Drivers who use 35E to commute to and from the St. Paul area are going be be inconvenienced this fall.

Interstate 35E between Highway 96 and the 35w/35E split will be reduced to one lane beginning Sunday.

The work will continue until the end of the construction season this Fall.

MnDOT is advising drivers to find alternate routes.

Drivers near Duluth should also be made aware that a bridge maintenance and repair project will begin on Monday, Aug. 1 on I-35 near County Road 13 south of Duluth. The project includes bridge deck resurfacing, painting and railing repairs on four bridges.

The Duluth project will be completed mid-October and the completed project will help prolong the bridges’ serviceability.
