ECE Says 200 Members Still Without Power

Thursday, July 7th, 2011 at 8:46 am

As of this morning (Thursday, July 7), nearly 200 members of East Central Energy are still without power. The most affected areas are Chisago, Isanti and Pine counties and Superior, WI.

Power was lost due to the devastating storms of last Friday.

East Central said in a press release that they want to thank their customers for their patience as crews continue to work to restore power to all locations.

ECE’s crews have been aided by line workers from other electric co-ops and by private contractors, and they are working as quickly and safely as possible.

Wide spread outage damage to ECE’s service territory is far greater than expected. Extensive work to restore power will continue. Restoration for some locations will require homeowners to contact an electrician to make repairs to member-owned equipment.
