Al Franken Staff Will Be in Pine City Thursday (Audio)

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 at 2:52 pm

With renewable energy becoming increasingly important to the nation’s efforts to reduce reliance on foreign oil and to job creation and economic development in Minnesota, Senator Franken’s staff will be in Pine City on Thursday, June 30 to meet with a wide variety of renewable energy advocates and business leaders about the potential that renewable energy holds for the region and the state.

Sen. Franken, who was named to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee in January, has conducted an Renewable Energy Listening Tour in communities across the state during the first half of 2011.

Because Sen. Franken will be in Washington, D.C. in the coming weeks while the Senate is in session, he has asked his State Energy Director Al Juhnke and his Minnesota field staff to conduct a series of renewable energy meetings across the state.
