Dayton To Meet With Republican Leaders Again This Afternoon, Shutdown Looms
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican legislative leaders will meet for more budget talks this afternoon. Remember, we’ve only four days left to prevent a government shutdown.
Dayton and Republicans are scheduled to meet at 3 p.m. Monday at the Capitol. This comes just a day after two and a half days of talks ended abruptly with no word of where things stood.
All sides have been very reserved in commenting on any progress toward a budget deal that would avert a shutdown starting Friday.
Prior to meeting Dayton, Republican leaders planned a news conference at the Stillwater Lift Bridge which could face closure in a shutdown.
A Ramsey County judge is expected to rule this week on how a shutdown would be handled. She is weighing who has the legal authority to continue state services.
