Wisconsin Man Dies in Tubing Accident

A Wisconsin man died Saturday afternoon in a tubing accident.

The sheriff’s department says that a 29-year-old Eau Claire resident died after a boat pulling people on tubes struck a bridge pillar on Lake Holcombe in Chippewa County.

According to deputies, a 14-year-old was driving the boat with two adult passengers on board and an adult being pulled on a tube. The boat was traveling through the pillars and the tube struck one.

The man on the tube was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources and Chippewa County Sheriff’s Dept. Recreation Division are investigating the crash.
