Former Dragon standout Adam Olson will be playing in the High School Football All-Star Game today at TCF Bank Stadium. Olson recently ran the anchor leg on the Pine City relay team that won a state championship, and he will continue his football career this fall at Minnesota Southwest State in Marshall.

The format for the All Star game has changed a bit this year; this game was formally called the Metro vs. Out State and was played at St. Cloud State University. This year they have divided the state into the North v. South and play the game at TCF Bank Stadium.

Adam is the first player since Jordan Monson (2008) to participate in the game only the third player from Pine City to ever do it. To be selected, a player must be nominated by his coach and voted on by conference coaches and then finally selected by the coaches of the All-Star game.

Reached for comment, Olson’s high school coach Jared Polzine says “This selection says a lot about the caliber of player that Adam is. This selection is also wonderful recognition for the Dragon Football team. I am extremely proud that Adam was selected and look forward to watching him succeed in the game.”

Adam and his family also wanted to thank the businesses in Pine City that supported Adam in his fundraising efforts in order to participate in the game.
