Two Minnesotans To Take Part In GOP Debate Tonight

Monday, June 13th, 2011 at 6:35 am

Two Minnesotans will step into the presidential spotlight tonight during a GOP debate. Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty will join five other Republicans in New Hampshire.

Political analyst Larry Jacobs says it’s quite extraordinary to have two front runners in the Republican nomination battle from one state and especially from a state that’s often considered a democratic stronghold, but he says it doesn’t mean they’ll try to fight it out.

“Tim Pawlenty and Michelle Bachmann have been circling each other for a number of years here in Minnesota. Now that battle’s being taken to a national stage.” Jacobs tells the Associated Press. “We could see them square off or nick each other, but I think they’ll be on their best behavior.”

In addition to Pawlenty and Bachmann, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, and Mitt Romney will also participate.

This was both disturbing and depressing at the same time. If I HAVE to vote GOP… I’d have to go for Romney. Pawlenty is too small of a person & a politician, and Bachman is just plain crazy. Hopefully they’ll spin themselves dry.
