Lind, Eichert Sentenced

Tuesday we learned the fate of the two men who pled guilty to the Big Pine Lake arsons which happened back in 2008. A Pine County judge sentenced Brandon Lind and Christian Eichert to more than nine years in prison Tuesday, for burglarizing, and then setting fire to at least 10 cabins on Big Pine Lake. The fires caused more than $1.7 million in damage.

Lind and Eichert both plead guilty to arson and burglary back in March after being arrested last September. Then Sheriff Mark Mansavage said investigators got the break they needed in the case from one of the suspects former girlfriends. Five different warrants were used, and we’ve previously reported that many stolen items were found in the suspects possession during the subsequent searches. Again, Lind and Eichert have each been sentenced to more than 9 years in prison.

Hear more about this on the Pine County Sheriff’s Report with Robing Cole on Thursday.

Perfect, 6-7 years with good time…$1.7million in damage, $65/day = $22,650/year per inmate in MN=$317,100. $1,000,000 per criminal in this case, i’m sure society will be paying this again in about 7 years.
