Dayton To Meet With Republicans Again Next Week To Seek Budget Fix
Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican legislative leaders say they’ve agreed to a series of budget talks, which are supposed to start next week.
Dayton told the Associated Press that he has instructed Republicans to tell him how much they’re willing to spend when they meet again Monday .
GOP Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch told reporters she believes the series of meetings she proposed are a roadmap to avoiding a sweeping government shutdown which would start next month. The schedule calls for a final budget agreement on June 21 and a special session starting June 27.
Dayton has insisted that he won’t call a special session without a budget deal.
