Grantsburg takes two, softball and baseball advance

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011 at 10:04 am

Both softball and baseball won their first game of the tournament last night in a wild wind storm.

The baseball team scored six runs in the second inning and that was enough to beat the Chetek/Weyerhauser 7-5. Jimmy Nelson got the win and Jacob Glover took over in the fifth and did a pretty good job.

Trevor Thompson takes the hill today against the Cameron Comets who beat Clayton/Turtle Lake last night 3-2.

The game will be streamed live on

The softball team fared well again, beating Clayton/Turtle Lake 12-0 in five innings. Stacey McKenzie and Gabby Witzany went yard and the girls face off against Cameron on Thursday… this one could be the toughest game of the year for the Pirates.

We’ll be broadcasting that one, too. It will be streamed

Both games start at 5pm.
