Wisconsin Seeking Landowners To Host Hunts For Disabled

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 at 6:36 am

Wisconsin wildlife officials are looking for landowners willing to sponsor deer hunts for disabled people.

The Department of Natural Resources launched disabled hunts in 1990. Private individuals sponsor the hunts, which are held entirely on privately owned land. Last year more than 100 sponsors participated in the hunt over 62,000 acres.

This year’s hunt is set to run from Oct. 1-9. The DNR will take sponsor applications through June 1.

The agency will post a list of sponsors on its website by July 1. Disabled hunters should contact the sponsors directly to make arrangements.
