Pine City Library Ribbon-Cutting Event (Video Highlights)

The Pine City Library Foundation and Library Board hosted a dedication and ribbon cutting at the newly renovated Pine City Library on Saturday. The renovation wouldn’t have been possible without a very large donation of $200,000  from H. Peter Hudson in memory of his late wife Henrietta Boo Hudson. Along with the Hudson family’s great donation came a challenge to the Pine City community to match the amount that was donated and to do so within a year.  Many people came forward and helped match that mark for a total of over $400,000 raised.

A great crowd showed up for the dedication, including Mayor Jane Robbins and Miss Pine City 2010 Steph Kozisek. (Pictured below)

Judy Scholin, Library Board President introduced the Boy Scout Troop 188 as they performed the pledge of allegiance.

Scholin then introduced the Master of Ceremonies, Peter Boo.

Mayor Jane Robbins also said a few words during the dedication.

Former U.S. Congressman James Oberstar, who was at the dedication when the library was built in 1978, was also on hand.

Other speakers included Pine City Librarian, Christy Koch and H. Peter Hudson.
