What could be better than a spring day spent in a scenic state park, meeting new friends and completing satisfying tasks?

East Central Energy (ECE) invites volunteers of all ages to join co-op employees and friends for the 12th annual Project GreenTouch. It will be held at Father Hennepin State Park in Isle, MN, on Saturday, May 7 and at Pattison State Park in Superior, WI, Saturday, May 14.

Activities range from raking and shoveling to clearing brush, painting picnic tables and planting trees. All are essential to getting the state parks ready for the busy season ahead.

The Pattison Park event begins at 9 a.m. and wraps up at noon. Volunteers at Father Hennepin will work from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. ECE provides morning coffee and lunch at both locations. The events will be held rain or shine. All tools and materials will be provided.

ECE works to build community connections and enhance the quality of life through events like Project GreenTouch. It exemplifies what Touchstone Energy Cooperatives stand for: commitment to community, innovation, integrity and accountability.

Those who plan to attend are asked to sign up by calling project coordinator Cindy Rolain at ECE, 1-800-254-7944, ext. 2022, or in the Superior, WI area, call Tonya Olson, 715-399-6166.
