Drunk Driver Gets Year In Jail For Hitting Cop
A Bemidji man has been sentenced to a year in jail and chemical dependency treatment for crashing into a Duluth police officer’s squad car. According to the Duluth News Tribune, on March 14, Duane Klynn Porter (25) was driving with a blood-alcohol level over three times the legal limit. He ran a red light and crashed into the squad.
Officer Don Boso was just days away from retirement after being an officer for twenty years. Boso suffered a concussion, internal bleeding of the brain, and cuts near his eyes.
Porter has previous convictions for drinking and driving, one as an adult and two for drinking and driving while underage.
