Do you enjoy drinking wine, but feel a little intimidated when you’re out at a restaurant looking at the wine list? Have you ever wanted to learn more about wine? Well, Voyageur Bottle Shop is putting on an event on Thursday, April 28 from 6:30-8:30 at the Pine City Country Club that is just for you!

‘A Wine Journey’ at the Pine City Country Club will feature Randy Dobratz of Chateau Ste. Michelle Wine Estates out of Washington State. Eight different kinds of wines will be tasted during the event, and there promises to be something for everyone.

WCMP talked with Julie Anderson, resident wine expert at Voyageur Bottle Shop, and she gave us some simple tips on beginning our own journeys  to enjoying wine. Julie says it’s smart to have a journal when tasting wines, to take your time, and to try different wines to see which ones you like.

In addition to the guest speaker, there will also be some food at this event – as it’s important to pair these wines with the appropriate edibles.

Tickets for the event can be purchases at the door for $15, or in advance at the Voyageur Bottle Shop for $10. (Editor’s note: while you’re in the Bottle Shop, we highly recommend picking up a bottle of Santa Julia Cabernet Sauvignon – from Argentina – affordable and fantastic!)

Our full audio interview with Julie Anderson can also be heard right here.
