Many area residents will be pleased to know that the Pine City Community Garden is back for it’s third-consecutive year. An informational meeting about the garden will be taking place on Thursday, April 28 at 7pm in the Pine County Courthouse Board Room, and interested parties are encouraged to attend.

Pine County Master Gardener Jon Hjelm tells WCMP that 32 garden plots measuring 10×20 will be sold for $15 each, and that all of the soil preparation will be handled by the master gardeners prior to May’s planting season.

Hjelm says that there are 50 master gardeners in Pine County, and that several of them have volunteered to help local residents succeed in their gardening endeavors this spring.

Hjelm talked with our Jesse Logan about the garden, and about the informational meeting.
