Pine City High School’s Speech Team competed at Sauk Centre High School on Saturday for the section 5A tournament.  The Dragons had 13 competitors that advanced into this tournament, and the whole team did a great job representing the school and the community.

Six participants earned their way into the final round for a chance to compete at state next weekend in Chanhassen. While all six of the students did very well in the round, three of those students advanced to the Class A State Tournament.

Those students representing Pine City at State are Renee Schminkey in the category of creative
expression.  Aaron Nisley in serious prose and Trevor Clune in serious poetry.  This is Nisely and Clune’s second year at the state tournament.

Pine City’s team placed fourth out of 27 teams at Section 5A tournament. The team is coached by Amanda
Thompson and Beth Steinleitner.
