Tuesday, April 5th, 2011 at 7:41 am

On Thursday, April 14 at 6:30 pm local author, Sue Leaf, will visit the Pine City Public Library to talk about her books, Bullhead Queen: a Year on Pioneer Lake and Potato City. As an environmentalist, Sue touches on the philosophical issues that come with living close to the land in her book, Bullhead Queen. She will share an intimate view of her Center City, Minnesota neighborhood as she observed the man-made and natural changes that took place over a year’s time.

Leaf joins other Minnesota essayists Bill Holm, Carol Bly and Paul Gruchow, as important Minnesota nature writers. She taught science at Cambridge Community College and is a trained biologist and has been honored by Writer’s Rising Up, a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging the next wave of Minnesota nature writers.

Ms. Leaf’s visit is part of East Central Regional Library’s Meet the Author series and is funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. For more information call the library at 320-629-6403 or visit us online at
