Norwegian Royalty Coming to Duluth
Norwegian royalty, King Harald and Queen Sonja, will be visiting Duluth in the fall. They will be there for a dedication of the Enger Tower in October. Norwegian embassy officials were in Duluth Thursday, to inspect the aging tower in preparation for the visit by the king and queen. The officials have been promised that the tower will be renovated by the time that the king and queen come to town. According to the Duluth News Tribune, the tower is undergoing a restoration project scheduled to be completed in May. The project costs $372,000.
The visit by the Norwegian officials is the first of three scheduled visits before King Harald and Queen Sonja arrive. Officials from the Norwegian Royal Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make trips in June.
