State Senate To Vote on School Budget Plan Today

Thursday, March 31st, 2011 at 8:55 am

It’s already been a very busy week in the Minnesota state Senate, and today legislators will cast votes on the biggest piece of the state budget: a spending plan for public schools.

The Senate education bill is similar to a bill that cleared the House earlier this week. The AP reports both would increase per-pupil aid to schools while cutting into special allowances for urban districts.

Republicans who run the Legislature are pushing a full slate of budget bills through both chambers this week.
