East Central Regional Library Presents The Rose Ensemble
East Central Regional Library is proud to present the Rose Ensemble:
Founded in 1996 by Artistic Director Jordan Sramek, The Rose Ensemble is celebrating 15 years of reawakening the ancient with vocal music that stirs the emotions, challenges the mind and lifts the spirit. The St. Paul group tours internationally with repertoire spanning 1,000 years and 25 languages, including new research in Middle Eastern, European and American vocal traditions.
The program they will be presenting is The Three Faiths. “Centuries of dedication and folklore in the chapels, synagogues and courts of early Italy, Span and Portugal produced music with rhythms that reverberated across the Mediterranean. In this program spanning four centuries of vocal and instrumental music, a diverse collection of Arab-Andalusian dances, Sephardic laments, Spanish villancicos, Hebrew chants and Galician spiritual cantigas come together in a fascination exploration of language, culture and faith from a time that is not so different from our own.”
There will be an educational music program at the Mora Public Library on March 24th at 4:00pm and there will also be a concert at the Mora High School auditorium at 7:00pm.
This program is for all ages and is open to the public.
This program is fund in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.
The Rose Ensemble will be making additional appearances throughout the East Central Regional Library region including Finlayson & Milaca in May and McGregor and Cambridge in June presenting their Hawaiian and Glory Shown Around concerts respectively.
