New Pathways To Host Rib Feed, Raise Money For Homeless

Homelessness is extremely prevalent within our community; this is something that many do not see. Some believe that homelessness has a certain “look,” this is not the case. Homelessness looks like a youth sleeping on a friend’s couch from night to night, it looks like a family with young children gathering resources to receive a one night hotel voucher from area agencies, or it may look like the single women walking to work each day after washing up at a public restroom. Homelessness encompasses so many different dynamics that it is hard to pin point the “look” of homelessness.

New Pathways provides shelter and support services to local homeless families with children from Isanti, Chisago, Pine, Mille Lacs, and Kanabec Counties. New Pathways operates on federal and state funding as well as monetary and in-kind donations. Together, we can help those living in a homeless situation.

If you would like to be a part of something that benefits homeless families within your community, please join us at New Pathways second annual Rib Feed Dinner on April 9th, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. The dinner will be held at the Cambridge American Legion. This dinner includes: smoked BBQ ribs, BBQ beans, coleslaw and cornbread. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children up to age 12. All proceeds go to help local homeless families with children living within our five county area. All interested attendees may purchase tickets at the New Pathways, Inc., Perkin’s of Cambridge or at the door the night of the event.
