DWI Patrols Will be Increased for the Super Bowl
The biggest sporting event of the year is this weekend’s Super Bowl between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Lots of people will be attending Super Bowl parties and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety is planning accordingly, and will be adding officers to the roads in search of drunken drivers.
According to authorities more than 1,400 motorists were arrested during Super Bowl weekend from 2007 through 2009 for drunken driving. Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske says Super Bowl party hosts and friends should figure out a plan before Sunday’s game so everyone has a sober ride.
The Super Bowl can also be heard on Classic Hits 105.7FM WXCX. Pregame starts at 3pm and kickoff is set for 5:30.
