Wisconsin Governor Walker Preparing First State Of State Speech
Republican Gov. Scott Walker is preparing for his first State of the State speech, which will be given tomorrow night. Walker will be able to reflect on several successes and is also expected to prepare people for some upcoming cuts.
In his first month in office Walker has seen five of his legislative priorities passed in rapid fashion by the Republican-controlled Legislature. Those include tax cuts on businesses and sweeping lawsuit reform.
But what Walker hasn’t done is explain how he will pay for any of those measures or balance a looming $3 billion budget shortfall.
Walker’s speech will be given to a joint meeting of the Senate and Assembly starting at 7 p.m. tomorrow night.
