Pine City’s two-time defending One-Act Play Sub-Section Champions look to defend their title with the children’s play “The Arkansaw Bear” this coming weekend. The talented cast of 11 will give their public
performance for local audiences tonight at 7pm at the Pine City
Elementary Auditorium and then compete on Saturday against five other schools in the Sub-Section 4A North Festival.

Director Brad Mariska describes the play as “a beautiful children’s play” by Aurand Harris and says the production “stars some of Pine City’s most talented and experienced actors, including seniors Aaron Nisley, Josh Palmer, and Emma Briski.” The show also features a unique twist – a musical score arranged by director Mariska himself that is performed live on stage by the student actors.

The cost for the Friday night performance is just $1 with all proceeds going to the Pine Community Food Shelf.
