Dragons Defeat Tigers 48-40
On Tuesday night (Jan. 25), Rush City’s Tigers traveled to Pine City to face off with the Dragons.
This was the second meeting of the season for the two teams, Rush City won the first contest 57-54 back on Friday, Dec. 10. Pine City came to play last night though, and defeated the Tigers 48-40.
Pine City was led by Senior Center Ty Clark who played virtually the whole game with no rest. Clark finished with 8 points, and had several key blocked shots and a boatload of rebounds. Pine City also got sizable contributions from Sophomore Brickre Fisher (10 pts) and Sophomore Tim Rubbelke (9 pts), but the play of the night was made by Senior James Taylor. Just before halftime, Taylor hit a buzzer-beating three with 2 seconds remaining, the shot went straight through the net and sent the Dragons into the half with a four-point lead. Taylor finished with 10 points himself.
For Rush City, another solid outing from Senior Jason Olsen who led all scorers with 15 points, but Rush drops their fourth game in a row, and is now 6-6 on the season. The Dragons are now 5-6.
