Christian Isackson’s dreams are well on their way to coming true. He was a seventh round pick in the NHL draft by the Buffalo Sabres. He will start by fulfilling his first post high school hockey dream by attending the University of Minnesota and playing for the Gophers.

Though he did play his high school hockey at STA, he will never forget where he came from.

Isackson told the Pine City Pioneer, “I chose to attend STA, rather than Pine City, because I felt like it gave me more opportunities in hockey and academics for my future,” he commented. That being said, when announcers call his name, he or she will say, “from Pine City, Minnesota” to make his hometown proud.

The Sabres have Isackson’s rights for three years, which he said, “…gives me motivation to work hard in order to achieve my dreams.”
