A 9-year-old girl that was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected and injured in an accident in western Wisconsin on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 25) morning.

KARE 11 reports that the single-car accident happened just before 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 94 near STH 95 in Jackson County.

Officials say the car was traveling eastbound on I-94 when the crash occurred, and apparently the child suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old man from Minnesota was driving the car, and authorities say he was cited for no valid license, a  seatbelt violation, and failure to have insurance, but he was not injured in the crash.

The girl was a passenger in the car, along with her mother, who was not injured.
