In an effort to support diabetes research and education, Grand Casino Mille Lacs donated a portion of each concert ticket purchased for the sold-out Bret Michaels shows on November 5 and 6. In total, a donation of $5,000 was made to the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

Bret Michaels has joined forces with the American Diabetes Association this month as the “Face of Diabetes” for National Diabetes Awareness Month. Michaels has had type 1 diabetes since the age of six.

“The Bret Michaels concert was the perfect opportunity to support diabetes research, a cause that is important to our Guests and the local community,” said Lorraine Cebollero, corporate vice president of marketing for Grand Casinos. “Grand Casino is committed to supporting organizations, like the American Diabetes Association, that sustain our region.”

“On behalf of the American Diabetes Association, I want to thank Grand Casino Mille Lacs for its continued support of all those who are affected by diabetes,” said Susan Klimek, Minnesota director of the American Diabetes Association. “We are so grateful for this generous donation.”
