Kanabec Hospital continues its efforts in being a leader in the healthcare industry, providing patients with compassionate, accessible clinics throughout the region.  It  is expanding its healthcare accessibility by adding  four new clinics.  Kanabec Hospital will acquire Allina clinics in Mora, Hinckley, and Pine City. The clinics will be acquired on March 1, 2011.

Along with the acquisition of the new clinics, Kanabec Hospital will undergo a name change in order to unite the clinics. The  new name will be FirstLight Health System. The name change will also happen on March 1, 2011.

Kanabec Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Randy Ulseth says that the name was chosen to signal a new day in the region’s healthcare. He also said the communities will enjoy enriched services and increased access for their healthcare.
