The Pine City Dragons continue to have a stellar season. On Tuesday (Oct. 26) night they moved their record to 9-0 with their sixth shutout win of the 2010 campaign. The Dragons toppled Mora 24-0 on a night where weather and the elements played a huge role.

In the first quarter, Senior RB Adam Olson scored from one-yard out on a run play and then converted a dive for the 2-point conversion. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 8-0.

In the second quarter, the Dragons got their second TD as Junior RB Josh Monson gashed the Mustangs defense right up the middle for an 18 yard score. A two-point conversion pass connected with Senior RB Mike Hansmann and the Dragons had a 16-0 lead at halftime.

The bad weather got even worse during the final two quarters of play, and the Mustangs had tremendous problems initiating their offense, which relies heavily on shotgun formations. Repeatedly the wet ball would fly over the head of the QB, and one such miscue ended up in a Pine City defensive TD for Hansmann, who recovered an errant snap in the endzone. The two-point conversion was also good, and the final score was Pine City 24, Mora 0.

The Dragons will face off with Milaca on Saturday, Oct 30.
