Bodies of Young Boy, Girl Found Near Minnesota/Wisconsin Border
The bodies of a young boy and girl were found Tuesday (Oct. 12) night in a wooded area of a park near the Wisconsin/Minnesota border in Lakeland, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said they received a 911 call just after 7:30 p.m. from someone who discovered the bodies in the bluff areas of Humphrey Park in Lakeland.
Detectives won’t confirm the age of the deceased or the nature of their deaths, but said that the deceased lived in the area.
Investigators are trying to contact family and have reached out to school administrators.
“I have been the Sheriff for the last four years, and in Law enforcement for 27 years and this is a very rare occurrence, very tragic and very rare,” Washington County Sheriff Bill Hutton told WCCO.
Crime scene investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) are expected soon to help determine how these two young people died. They will say they are not searching for the person who did this.
