October is National Community Planning Month. This year’s theme is “Sustaining Places”, acknowledging that planners play a big role in creating sustainable and environmentally-friendly communities. Pine City residents can celebrate this month at the open house Wednesday, October 27¬† from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall’s Council Chambers (in the Pine Government Center, 315 Main Street S.)

While at the open house you can can view ideas from the various comprehensive plan subcommittees. You can meet local planning commissioners and learn how to get involved. Immediately after the open house the Planning Commission will hold their regular meeting. The city will be recognizing an individual at the event as “Citizen Planner”, someone who is making significant contributions to planning for Pine City’s future.
