Two More Arrests Made In Connection To Arson/Burglary Spree
Charges were filed Friday against two more people suspected in the April 2008 burglaries and arson of several cabins in Pine County that caused an estimated $1.5 million in losses. Pine County Sheriff Mark Mansavage had said on Tuesday (Sept. 21) that two more people would be charged in the spree, so this comes as no surprise.
Kristina Louise Langerud, 20, of Sandstone and Kevin Douglas Ingles, 21, of Brook Park, were charged in Pine County District Court on Sept. 21. Langerud faces five counts of burglary and one count of first-degree arson. Ingles is charged with one count each of first, second and third degree burglary.
Charges previously were filed against Langerud’s boyfriend, Brandon A. Lind, 25, of Sandstone, and Christian A. Eichert, 22. Lind is charged with 36 counts of arson and burglary, while Eichert faces 21 counts stemming from the night of April 12, 2008, when the men allegedly burned down eight cabins, a garage and a sportsman’s club totaling $1.5 million.
According to the charges, Langerud helped Lind to burglarize six cabins, setting one of them on fire.
Langerud, who along with Lind had been charged in Pine County with two earlier burglaries in 2007 and 2008, led authorities to residences and buildings that Lind had allegedly burglarized. Many of those crimes are part of the 36-count complaint against him.
“Lind knows that he will be caught but does not know when,” the complaint quotes her as saying. As for Eichert, who now faces 21 felony counts, Langerud described him as a fire-setter who believed he would never be caught.
Investigators also met with Ingles, who said that he committed two burglaries with Lind and Eichert in the spring of 2008.
