Man With Outstanding Warrants Arrested

The Office of the Kanabec County Sheriff Steve Schulz has released the following information:

On Wednesday, September 22 the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant that lead to the arrest of Michael Allen Chapel (37). Chapel had two outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions for probation violation.

Chapel was spotted by Deputies on surveillance in the early hours of  September 22. Chapel refused to answer the door. A search warrant was obtained and Chapel was arrested without incident.

Another search warrant was obtained after Deputies observed narcotics paraphernalia. The warrant revealed a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and an improvised explosive device along with materials to make similar devices.

Chapel was arraigned on Thursday, September 24. Bail was set at $150,000 with conditions or $300,000 without conditions.
