Sheriffs in Kanabec County continue to be on the lookout for a man they say attempted a series of child abductions late last week.

The Kanabec County Sheriffs office reports that a man tried, on two separate occasions last Wednesday (Sept. 15) and last Friday (Sept. 17), to lure a juvenile into his van. From the initial incident, Sheriff’s were able to get a description of the vehicle. It is believed to be a silver or grey minivan described as older, with rust on it, with a cracked passenger side tail light. One of the juveniles also said that the two passenger side tires were not matching..

Since the first report, the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office has been monitoring all Kanabec County Schools and are working with other jurisdictions in regards to the incidents. A vague description of the man attempting the abductions indicates he is Caucasian, and between 40-60 years old.

Anyone observing a vehicle that matches this description or has any information on the matter is advised to contact the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office at 320-679-8400.
