WCMP has learned that almost 600 area residents are without power after powerful storms that passed through during the early morning hours of Sept. 2.

The primary areas affected are Milaca, North Branch, and Rush City. It is believed that around 600 homes are currently without power, but crews are out working in hopes of returning service later today.

Customers without electricity service are advised to call 1-800-254-7944 and report their status.

***UPDATE*** As of 9:00 a.m. power has been restored to North Branch and Rush City, approximately 248 members in Milaca are still without power.
