Duluth Nurses Avoid Strike With Tentative Deal
It appears Duluth area nurses have avoided a possible strike and reached a tentative agreement with a local hospital.
The AP reports the agreement follows an all-night negotiating session between the two parties which was considered a last attempt at bargaining before more than 400 nurses scheduled a one-day strike.
Union negotiator Cindy Prout says the agreement addresses nurses’ concerns over staffing levels.
One of the key issues in negotiations was a new code of conduct for nurses. The proposed contract gives nurses input on the new code.
