North Branch Banker Sentenced For Fraud
A federal judge recently ordered Ross William Sandison to pay a $30,000 fine and serve three months in prison for conspiracy to commit fraud for his involvement in the failed Ramsey Town Center development.
Sandison, 43, was given two years of probation and 200 hours of community service for his role in the project. The Isanti-Chisago County Star reports he was a vice president at Community National Bank of North Branch and several other banks statewide when he arranged a $35 million loan to build the center. The loan defaulted in 2005.
Sandison’s father, William Garfield Sandison and associate Curtis Alan Martinson reached a plea deal with prosecutors and are scheduled for sentencing later this month on one count of fraud count each for their roles as well.
