Braham had it’s annual Pie Day last Friday, and WCMP has been informed of the winners. Braham has been called the “Pie Capital of Minnesota,” and for good reason – there were numerous entries that were simply delectable. The following entries were given award, but the real winners were the ones enjoying the pies!

Grand Champion – Best overall Pie: Judy Olson for her “Raspberry Lime” pie.

First place in Fresh Fruit or Cream Pie:  Heidi Gerdin Seals of Stanchfield for her “Thankful for Freedom” pie.

First place in Baked Single Crust:  Jeffrey Mattson for his “Banana Foster Custard” pie.

First place in Baked Double Crust: Marti Benson of Benson for the “Radar’s Grape Nehi” pie.

First place among the Children’s category: Christian Patterson of Braham for his “Creamy Watergate Pie with Pecan Crust.”

First place in the Apprentice category: Sydney Lamberty of Cottage Grove for the “Chocolate Banana Cream” pie.

A lifetime achievement award was also given to Lola Nebel who baked a very tasty “Lattice Cherry” pie.
