Wisconsin Governor Doyle Signs Bill

JimDoyleWisconsin Governor Jim Doyle today signed Senate Bill 273, the Renewable Resource Credits bill into law. Under Governor Doyle’s leadership Wisconsin has had some of the greatest environmental accomplishments in decades. Wisconsin led the passage of the Great Lakes Compact, a landmark water conservation effort.

The state has protected more than 500,000 acres of land through the Stewardship Program. Major strides have been made to reduce mercury in the air and water. Large water clean up efforts have moved forward. And now Wisconsin is a leader in the clean energy economy.

Governor Doyle also vetoed the Raw milk bill entirely. Saying that he needed to make sure they protect the health of citizens in Wisconsin and the dairy industry.
