Nortwest Co. Fur Post Re-enacts War of 1812
The crack of a musket, the smell of burnt gunpowder and the sight of British soldiers on the battle field were part of the fun Saturday at the Northwest Company Fur Post in Pine City.
The Northwest Company Fur Post has done numerous re-enactments in the past, but this weekend it was the War of 1812.
Site Manager Patrick Schifferdecker explains the vital role the Northwest Company had in the war.
Parents, kids, and history buffs show up for these events to enjoy and to also get in on the fun, about 15-20 soldiers arrived in full uniform to act out the war.
Schifferdecker explains what happens at the re-enactment.
Northwest Company Fur post opens on Memorial Day and runs through Labor Day.
