A four-year-old girl from Cambridge was injured Sunday morning when she fell out of a moving vehicle in Mille Lacs County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Jade Halverson was sitting on her eleven-year-old sister’s lap when she pulled the door handle opening the rear left door.  Halverson began to fall.   Her sister grabbed one of her legs and held her briefly until Halverson’s hair went under the left rear tire, pulling her out of the vehicle.

Halverson was transported to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.  The State Patrol describes her injuries as serious but non-life threatening.

The driver of the vehicle, Tracey Halverson – Jade’s mother, was traveling from the north side of Highway 27 crossing from the Isle Laundromat to Teals Market.

The accident happened around 10 a.m.

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota DNR Enforcement Division assisted at the scene of the accident.
