The mothers of Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd and Josh Fattal – the three American hikers detained in Iran – confirmed today that they had received visas from the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Washington DC.

The mothers – Cindy Hickey, Nora Shourd and Laura Fattal – issued the following statement:

“We are delighted that, as Iran had promised us, we now have visas in our passports to travel to Iran and visit Shane, Sarah and Josh in Evin Prison.  We cannot wait to see our children after nine long and distressing months and are doing everything we can to arrive in Iran as quickly as possible.  We expect to finalize our travel arrangements this week and fly to Tehran early next week.”
