Funeral Services for Will Christen
Funeral Services will be held for Will Christen, 19, of Brook Park on Saturday, April 24th at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church – Lighthouse in Pine City. Visitation and reviewal is scheduled for two hours prior to the service.
Christen will be interred in the Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Christen is survived by his father Lee Christen and his wife Kris of Iron River, WI., mother Dawn Shilts and husband Dan of Brook Park, sister Emma Christen of Brook Park and many other relatives.
Will Christen, 19, was the passenger in a car that went off Sunnyhill Road north of County Road 14 around 6:20 a.m., according to Pine County Sheriff Mark Mansavage.
Pine City High School Principal George Johnson said the school made mention of the accident to students during Saturday’s prom. Johnson said students were “very receptive” to the news.
Mansavage tells Red Rock Radio that Christen and the driver Steve Fore,19, of Brook Park were both ejected from the vehicle which was traveling northbound.
Christen was transported to the Pine Medical Center in Sandstone where he was pronounced dead. His body was then taken to Ramsey County for an autopsy.
Fore remains in critical condition at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Christen graduated from Pine City High School in 2009. He also worked as a board operator at WCMP and WXCX radio during 2009.
